Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life.
You stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies,
and your right hand delivers me.
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Do not forsake the work of your hands.
(Psalm 138:7-8, ESV)

I love flying. It’s exhilarating as the plane’s engine roars and suddenly with a huge thrust – the plane catapults high into the skies. I always try and get a window seat and gaze out the window. Everything looks quite different from 32,000 feet than on the ground.

The same is true with life. Think about the psalmist. God didn’t take away all of David’s troubles. David cried out to God many times. Did that mean God didn’t hear David? No. God always hears and answers His children’s cries to Him. But He may not answer the way we would like.

God’s perspective is not always our perspective.

It’s so easy to get caught up in why your situation isn’t changing or why God isn’t answering our prayers. While He may not always deliver us from the trouble at hand, He will ALWAYS be with us. He will give us the strength we need and the confidence to face the trouble at hand.

When we focus on our troubles, we will often stumble. When we focus on God, our giants will TUMBLE.

That’s why it’s so important to keep our eyes focused on Jesus. It’s a choice we need to make.

When we focus on God, our giants will tumble.

God sees the whole picture from a very different perspective. Keep your eyes focused on Him. He knows what’s best for you. Trust Him. Lean on Him.

Prayer:  We praise you, Lord, with all our hearts today. Thank You when we call out to You, You hear us. Lord, help us when we don’t see the answers we want. Help us to not get bogged down with the circumstances of life. Lord, we know You are working all things out for good – for those who love You. Show us today what You want us to learn through these situations and mold us to be more like You. In Jesus name. Amen.

I hope God encourages you today and strengthens you right where you are. I’m praying for you!
