Devotion: You Fit the Mold

You Fit the Mold

“For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.” Ps. 139:13

You know the list. Hair, nails, feet, nose, eyes, ears, fingerprints…all are individual to you.

But how often do we remember, when He created us, God was the Author of our instruction manual. He knew, and knows, how best we operate, under what conditions, with what parameters, using characteristics and gifts unique to each individual. He made your mold and formed you to be the only you on this planet (despite rumors of there being someone exactly like you out there).

We can choose to follow His directions – the instructions He provided in the Bible – or we can choose to go rogue and try to define our own means of operation. Like a refrigerator unplugged from a wall, we can choose to unplug from God, we grow mold inside. Rather than be molded by our Creator, we mold up and become sick with sin.

The Bible says, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success” (Josh. 1:8).

Choose to exclusively fill your head with television, social media, newspapers, movies and the like and the void in you that longs to spend time with God in The Word will grow, from a hunger to a starvation, rather than moving toward God’s blessings of prosperity and success. Spiritually, you will fizzle out.

The Bible says, “Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags” (Prov. 23:20-21).

Decide to eat anything and everything you want and not only will you have weight problems, you’ll wind up with health problems, and you may even go broke.

Be encouraged…it’s truly not over til it’s over. You can open the instruction manual today, right now, and begin following the directions written there. You are one choice away from a complete turn-around. And you’re not in there alone. Not only did God make your mold and write your manual, He wants you to ask Him to help you obey Him.  (Don’t miss this.)

Now I ask you…would you rather be molded by your Creator who made your mold? Or do you want to get covered up in the mold of sin. You decide. And by the way, He’s the One who gave you ‘choice’. It’s in the manual.
