Share Your Faith Using “Steps to Peace”: Step 3 – God’s Bridge

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit

1 Peter 3:18, NKJV

So far in our review of Steps to Peace with God, we’ve examined the first two steps:

STEP 1 – God’s Purpose: Peace and Life

STEP 2 – The Problem: Our Separation from God

In the first two steps, we’ve seen that God has a plan and purpose for us, but sin has separated us from Him. God is holy and perfect, and cannot abide the darkness of sin in His presence. So how do we (sinful human beings) find peace with God? How do we cross that great divide between us and Him?

Jesus made a way! Bridging that giant chasm between us and God is the cross of Christ. Let’s look at Step 3 of the Steps to Peace with God:

STEP 3 – God’s Bridge: The Cross

Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between us and God.

The Bible says:

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.”

-1 Timothy 2:5

“For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.”

-1 Peter 3:18

God has provided the only way back to Him. You must make a choice.
