A Father’s Love

A Father’s Love

Psalm 91:14 says, “Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.”

I was four years old when my family headed to our first family vacation in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. My parents decided to enroll me in a daily “kids” camp where we were staying. I honestly don’t remember what specifically happened, but when my dad called to check on me, I was crying that something had gone terribly wrong. Within a matter of minutes, my dad swept into the camp, scooped me up and rescued me. I remember how sternly he spoke to the leaders in charge. Then, as we got outside, he hugged me tight, told me everything would be okay, and told me how much he loved me.

I think my dad would have stopped at nothing to protect me. He was an amazing, loving, encouraging man. I’ve always remembered what happened that day, not for what went wrong, but for what went RIGHT. I remember my dad protecting me.

As we approach Valentine’s Day, we want to encourage you that your Heavenly Father wants to be there for you, comfort you, and protect you.

Why?

Because God deeply LOVES you. He cares for you.

When we look at God’s amazing, loving character and who He is, we can take comfort and know He will keep His promises.

Psalm 91:14 says, “Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.”

“The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom” (2 Timothy 4:18).

When we come to Christ, because of the finished work that Jesus did on the cross we can now approach God as our loving Father.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1)

Reach out to Him. He wants to hear from you. He wants to be there for you and meet your every need just like a good father would.

Prayer: Father, thank You for loving us. Thank You for being our Father and caring for us, comforting us, encouraging us, and strengthening us. Father I pray that those who feel alone and forgotten would feel Your presence today. Wrap Your loving arms around those who need it. Thank You, Lord, that You are a good and loving Father. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

We hope and pray that God would wrap His loving arms around you, comforts you and let you know how special you are. You are His prized child and you are LOVED!
