“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
Recently, I have been in a period of my life where I feel as if all my weaknesses are on display for the world to see. Maybe you can relate to feeling like you’re in over your head: “How did I ever think I could handle this is the first place?”
This verse has provided me with hope throughout the last few weeks. It has shown me that even though I see my weaknesses and shortcomings as obstacles, God sees them as opportunities.
The Bible is brimming with stories of people who, at first glance, seemed inadequate or unprepared for the challenges that lay ahead of them. But with God’s help, they accomplished more than anyone could ever imagine.
When God appeared to Moses in Exodus, telling him he would be the one to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, Moses was filled with second guessing and self-doubt (Exodus 3-4). He worried he was not the right man for the job, that the people would not believe him, and that they would not listen. But even with the whole list he had come up with of what could possibly go wrong, the Lord was with him every step of the way. And throughout the rest of Moses’ life, the Lord enabled him to perform incredible miracles and accomplish amazing things he never would have been able to do alone.
God can use anyone for His purposes, no matter their shortcomings. In fact, what you may think is holding you back from fulfilling your God-given purpose, might just be the very thing God is looking for to bring glory to His name.
As you go through this week, take time to bring what you may be struggling with to God. If you call out to the Lord and ask for His guidance, you will be amazed at the changes He can bring about in your life.
Have a good week!
