Jesus is Coming!

Jesus is Coming!

“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And He will send his angels with a loud trumpet call and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”

Matthew 24:30-31

During this Advent season – we’re preparing for Christmas. It’s a time to celebrate when Jesus was born.

Advent derives from the Latin word meaning “arrival” or “coming.” The Lord is coming.

As we get ready for Christmas, let me encourage you to think of a different way of looking at Advent. Are you prepared for Jesus to come again?

I’m talking about His second coming.

God sent Jesus His only Son, Jesus, into the world to die for all of our sins. Then, after the third day – He rose again.

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”

–John 11:25

Are you prepared if Jesus comes back today? How should this truth impact the way, as believers, we live?

  • We should be encouraging other believers. Life is hard. When times get tough, we need encouragement. But, as believers, we hold onto the hope that Jesus is coming back. This shouldn’t scare us, but encourage us. Encourage someone today. You never know what someone may be going through. God can use YOU to encourage someone and give them hope. Send that person a card, a note, an email. Maybe call someone or text them an encouraging message. You never know how God can use you.
  • Share the Good News of the Gospel! “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” (1 Peter 3:15). Pray that God will put someone in your path to share the Gospel with and be ready to share the Good News! Remember, you are Christ’s ambassador.
  • Live with expectant hope. Draw closer to the Lord, making sure to spend time in God’s Word, meditate on it, and memorize it.
  • Mend relationships. Life is so short. Don’t waste another moment. If you need to forgive someone, do it. If you need to reach out to someone and extend grace – please do. If you need to show love to someone who is hurting, act now.  Don’t wait.

Know and believe Jesus loves you. Jesus is coming again.

Prayer: Father, as we remember the birth of Your Son Jesus, we are so thankful that You sent Him to earth. We thank You for the gift of Salvation that we receive by faith. Lord, as we look forward to You coming again, help us to wait for Your coming with expectant hope. Help us to be a blessing and encouragement to others around us. Put people in our path Lord, that we can share Your Good News. Draw us closer to You during this Advent Season. Thank You for all of what You are doing in and through us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Please know we are praying for you and hope this encourages you today!
