God’s Creation

As the chill of winter melts away to the warm embrace of spring, now more than ever, we are reminded of the beauty of God’s creation. At The Cove, we have the privilege of being surrounded by picturesque mountains and lush forests, but you don’t have to seek out breathtaking destinations to see the work of God’s hands.

In Genesis 1, God created the earth and every plant and living thing, saying that “it was good.” Like a painting reflects the art style and characteristics of the painter, so too can we see the majesty and greatness of God through His creation.

 The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of His hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
(Psalm 19:1-4, NIV)

You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship You (Nehemiah 9:6, NIV).

Nature is not just a beautiful thing to behold, it is a tender encouragement as well. God created the heavens, the earth, and everything in them. He created spectacular mountain ranges, towering waterfalls, and vast oceans. He created the planets and every single star we see in the night sky. Yet among all of the amazing wonder of creation, He chooses to love and care for you and me.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place, what is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them? (Psalm 8: 3-4, NIV)

This week, take time to reflect in the peaceful beauty of God’s creation.

Until next time!
