“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
(NKJV), Matthew 11:28
When Billy and Ruth Graham envisioned The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove, one of their goals was to create a place where people could find rest in the Lord. Life is busy and stressful, and we need to be deliberate in removing ourselves from the frenetic pace of society to spend time alone with our Savior.
Rest is a major theme in Scripture. In fact, the topic of rest is mentioned literally hundreds of times across the Old and New Testaments. We’re called to find our solace in God, resting in Him and His promises.
No matter where you are today – whether you’re in a season of stress and busyness, or quiet and solitude – reflect on these verses about resting in the Hands of our Father.

Matthew 11:29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
