“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace.” – Romans 15:13
Based on devotional from Billy Graham’s ‘Hope For Each Day’
We experience many storms in our lives. They’re often unexpected, unpredictable, and shake our sense of security and peace. These ‘storms’ can be financial difficulties, a frightening diagnosis, a breakdown of relationship, or even a season of grief.
Peace, Be Still
Billy Graham once reminded us of a moment in Scripture when Jesus and His disciples found themselves in an actual storm. The wind roared, the waves crashed, and the boat rocked violently on the Sea of Galilee. Panic filled the disciples, but Jesus slept. Despite the storm, Jesus was at peace. He knew His Father was in control. And when He woke, He spoke three simple words that changed the atmosphere: “Peace, be still.” (Mark 4:39)
That very peace is available to us today. Jesus hasn’t changed—and neither has His authority over the storms we’re facing.
His Word Brings Peace
If you’re in the middle of a storm right now, take heart. You are not alone. Turn to Christ and find the peace that silences noise and fear. Billy Graham said: “Jesus’ words still calm the turmoil in our lives. Is some storm making you fearful today? Stay close to Jesus, for His Word brings peace.”
