Billy Graham on Peace

With so much strife and uncertainty happening on a global scale, matched with the struggles, trials, and problems of everyday life, it can be hard to feel at ease. How do we get to a place of peace? Let’s reflect on what Billy Graham says:

“Only Christ can meet the deepest needs of our world and our hearts. Christ alone can bring lasting peace – peace with God, peace among men and nations, and peace within our hearts. He transcends the political and social boundaries of our world.”

“Peacemaking is a noble vocation … To be a peacemaker, you must know the Peace-Giver.”

“For the Christian, peace is not simply the absence of conflict, or any other artificial state the world has to offer. Rather it is the deep, abiding peace only Jesus Christ brings to the heart.”

“Your future does not hinge on the world situation, however grim it might become. It depends on what happened 2,000 years ago at the cross and your acceptance or rejection of the Prince of Peace.”

“The world doesn’t give peace, for it doesn’t have any peace to give. It fights for peace, it negotiates for peace, it maneuvers for peace, but there is no ultimate peace in the world. But Jesus gives peace to those who put their trust in Him.”

How do we obtain the peace we are all so desperately searching for? Billy Graham’s words here are clear – from Jesus Christ alone. Relationships, financial blessings, job security, and lack of strife can provide temporary comfort. However, it will never last. A storm will come, so we must be rooted in Jesus Christ to experience peace despite our circumstances.

Billy Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association purchased the property for The Cove in the 1970s. His vision was to give people a place to be spiritually renewed, study the Bible, and be trained. It is a place to reconnect with the Creator and find peace in Him. If you need to get alone with God, we’d like to invite you to The Cove for a Personal Spiritual Retreat. To learn more, visit: The Cove Events – Spiritual Retreat.
