Ever since the fall, life has never worked exactly as it should. Sadness, discouragement, and frustration are inevitable—and each can weaken our commitment to God’s purpose. But did you know that sorrow can become a gateway to deeper resolve to honor Him? Come survey the book of Jeremiah and nurture the only thing that can sustain you during life’s greatest challenges—a thirst to advance God’s kingdom. Rather than trying to overcome or prevent painful emotional responses to life, learn how to embrace them as opportunities to see “all things work together for good” (Romans 8:28, NKJV). Let your life tell God’s grand story and experience meaning and hope that sorrow cannot destroy.
